FLASH OF A GENIUS: Movie Review.

"Flash of a genius", rightfully conversed in a very subtle way in this particular movie. Before going into the review, let's have a moment of geniusness which could've occurred to any of us alive or dead on the earth. The moment, if we've tried it, could have been a triumph or a loss. Though trying matters.

A movie made in 2008 from the 1960s directed by Marc Abraham contextualizes about an inventor, professor & a father of six named Robert Kearnes (Greg Kinnear) who participates in the battle of David vs Goliath. David, of course being him. Goliath here is the Ford Motors Corporation. Robert's wife Phyllis (Lauren Graham) is the mother of six children.

What takes an invention? Possibly a flash of thought? Or apple falling down from a tree? Here it is the cork of a champagne hitting Robert's eye making him one eye blind. That's it. If eyes can blink why not  windshield wipers? Robert, primarily being a professor is obsessed with invention right since his childhood. The movie portrays his happy family due to the immense relationship among the family members, virtually calling themselves Kearne Corp. Robert invents the intermittent electronic wiper which can be automatic. He thinks to manufacture on his own & sell it to Ford Corp. Gil, a friend, lawyer too,  sets up a meeting which goes successful. Ford Corp agrees to it. But all is not well. Ford Corp steals the invention without crediting anything to Dr.Robert Kearne. Leaving him shattered he decides to go after Ford legally by filing a lawsuit. In the meantime his relationship with his family, especially with his wife weakens though his wife supports him. It is only after reaching to a deal of $300,000 & letting the case unsettled his wife steps out. It happened because Robert wanted his name on the invention rather than money. All an inventor who contributes to a society could never want money more than his name on it. It is what he does all his life. Robert gets slient, emotional & mentally unstable due to the prevailing circumstances. All he cared about was his invention. Family isolation didn't seem a concern though he later realises it. Time passes by. The time frame changes is shown by the change occuring in models of vehicles. No particular year has been mentioned. After years of struggle, Dr Robert gets the opportunity to represent the case for himself. The court scene isn't much lengthy. Dr. Robert is helped by his grown kids who help him fight the Ford Corp & even denying a handsome money for the infringement. Garnering strength, Robert goes on till he succeeds. In the end its upon the jury to decide. One court scene where Robert explains Charles Dickens' book words is exemplar. Outstandingly he has delivered the emotions in control.  Not much of other characters were seemed appealing. Its solely an inventor's life. Its a slow but not a dramatic one. The harrowing experience of Robert isn't much exhibited or about the financial distress which could've gone a few more miles in terms of critic applause.

Well, its truly a beautiful story for an engineer who wants to get some inspiration.
