A letter to Brendon McCullum.

Dear Bazz,                    I am a true Indian team fan as I'm a native of India but i'm no less Kiwi fan. Well, the world cup is in the midway. Your guys have performed sensibly good in all departments. You are one of the hosts, so the critics say you do stand a chance to win this world cup along with Australia & the mighty South Africa. Australia might have won 4 times but your team, as a whole unit, is no less mightier. Let's start with you. I've watched you since the first day of IPL when you wrecked havoc. Until then i'd never seen somebody dancing down the track & hitting six to fast bowlers in a fearless manner. Not once or twice but several times. I was completely awestruck with your timing whenever you swing your bat like a samurai does with his sword. Perharps, you and AB de Villiers are the most outstanding batsmen playing in an unorthodox way. I really did not care to see yo...

The World XI.

Let's make some space on the table. A pen & a few papers. Mind, now uncluttered. Ready to jot down the best XI cricket players, playing 2015 World Cup. Not in an anachronistic order but in a  chronological order. Its always has been an herculean task for picking up the best around the world. I may possibly get stuck somewhere & for that i might end up adding four more players, making it 15. Pen in between my thumb & index finger. Sleeves rolled up. A clean sheet. 1) Hashim Amla- Have you lately noticed a beard guy of South African team, breaking fastest 2000, 3000,4000, 5000 runs in a short span of 108 matches? He is the epitome of consistency, breaking Ab's, Virat's & Sir Viv Richard's record. He is a run machine. He is my No.1 spot. He is irreplaceable. Matches-108 Runs-5370 Avge- 55.93 Nick name: The Great African Wall. 2) Brendon McCullum- The New Zealander of the year,The Captain of the black caps, the man with tremendous fast hands & the o...

Goal: The dream begins

The story is about a young chap who is an ardent football fan, buff, freak or an enthusiast. The name's Santiago Munez. Yes, spanish. Not Spanish Spanish. He is Mexican Spanish. He had been through poverty since his childhood. His father had some tough times. Escaping their family from Mexico to LA. As you know in the drug entrenched zones, either somebody from the cartel shoots you off or end up in jail. Sant's mom walked out on their family which his father had to face the status quo. Santiago's father never thought his children to live beyond their small truck business. But little did he know his elder son whose back of mind was brewing strong urge to play football at the highest level. The passion was right intact since his childhood days. The extremely talented footballer Santiago meets Glenfoy who watches him play at a local suburb's playground. Glenfoy assures him to move to England where he could possibly have tests for the Club New Castle. Despite Santiago...

12 angry men.

The movie begins with a court trial in New York court house indicting a kid who was considered to be brutally murder his own father. The Judge, seemed tired, had decided upon the jury to take the decision whether guilty or for acquittal. The Jury comprised of 12 jurors. Everybody in their mind had already decided the boy was guilty & should be hanged till death. Leaving the verdict to be decided by the jury the judge retires. The jury decidedly moved to a private room for the decision regarding the boy's fate. It was a hot, humid day. Almost everybody was soaked up in sweat. Before they sat down few had refreshments. Later rain brought relief to the jurors who were disgusted in over spending of time on a topic which had nothing to argue on. Note: There were no names used of anybody till the end. First round of voting started with 11-1 guilty to not-guilty. The eleven jurors were taken aback. Few were raged, taken aback  & equally awestruck as the one who voted not guilty...

World Cup 2015: The era of new bloods.

2nd April, 2011. Enthralled with emotions & overwhelmed with jitters. One might have skipped a heart beat or two.  Can any patriotic Indian forget this night? Those who've witnessed the cricket match between India & Sri Lanka held at Wankhede stadium(Mumbai), would long cherish the memories forever. But time moves on. Now here we are, after four years,on the brink of another world cup to begin. A month is left for one of the great tournaments in cricketing game to begin. Indian team is busy playing Australia in the Border- Gavaskar trophy with 2-0 down & a new skipper in records. Hats off to the great MSD for his contributions to the Indian Test Cricket Team apart from the dismal performance in the overseas. The statistics explicitly suggests his average took a plunge in recent years. Despite this he will be hailed as a hero for for taking the team to great heights, rank one in test rankings. The BCCI selectors have had a herculean task to select 15 players out of 3...

Dec 20th: Open bar party.

It was afternoon. Nothing ideal came up to my mind to suppress the boredom untill Pritam called me up subsequently followed by Amit's call. However I could pick the latter one as the former one was just a missed call. He mentioned to come quick, pick him up & reach at Pritam's place. At that moment I guessed  maybe it was Buniyaad, who was persistently trying to cook a goat head but was unsuccessful, is now ready to make his day. Ofcourse with some beers as it was a daytime. I was already in my dress. Quickly I started my mediocre bike & rode off to Amit's place. Within no time I was there & then we set off for Pritam's. On the way we had to re-route our destination to the chicken shop. Yes, that meant the party was on. We saw Dhundu there with 4 kgs of raw chicken ready to be cooked. I corrected myself. It was Shubankar who all of a sudden had decided to have a party. Generally, these parties turn out to be chaotic ones. Very peaceful in the beginning. Then...

The Hyderabad Times.

When you back your own ass while escaping from the so called 'BlackLand' aka Madras(Chennai) & land up at a place in a place in South India, not much away from Chennai , Hyderabad, what do you expect? 1) Shit, Not again! The Language barrier 2) Damn, those idlies & dosas with add-ons like special chutney, ONCE AGAIN! 3) As heard earlier, Land of Biriyani. Only one good thing (Sad for Vegies). 4) Sorry, no intention of racial discrimination but Mr.Blacks & Mrs Blacks. 5) Not to forget about those never-ending names 'Subramaniam','Srinavasan' with extra military like badges 'A','B','S'. Did you get my last point? Yes its their name. "A.Subbarao", "MVSD.Narayana" People crave for these alphabets I suppose. Even though hooked up with my first job, I was expecting least. Got a comrade, not a new one. The same old guy with whom I lied drunk on the floor during my Engineering Mission. I,however, compl...
